Kathmandu: CPN UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli announced that the new coalition with the Nepali Congress (NC) aims to revive the national economy, which has been struggling recently. Chairman Oli emphasized that forming a new government with the NC as a ruling partner is essential for revitalizing the economy.

Addressing a parliamentary party meeting at the parliament building in New Baneshwor on Sunday, Chairman Oli argued that intensifying development works is a national need that necessitates a coalition government with the NC. He reminded attendees that the UML had historically collaborated with the NC during times of national crisis, citing the significant revolutions of 2046 BS and 2062/63 BS.

Chief Whip Mahesh Bartaula also spoke during the meeting, sharing that the party had urged Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal not to make any long-term decisions as he currently leads a minority government. Additionally, Bartaula called on PM Dahal to step down promptly to facilitate the formation of a national government.

Prime Minister Dahal is scheduled to face a floor test on July 12.
